The Lone Peak Tram at Big Sky is perhaps one of the most hair raising rides in all of American skiing. The tram sores some 1,450 vertical feet straight up a cliff face with no towers, it reaches the top of the peak at 11,166 feet in just 4 minutes. Mountain goats can often be seen clinging to the near vertical rocks of Lone Peak in both summer and winter.
