The north side of Lone Peak is home to an area once operated separately from Big Sky known as Moonlight Basin. At certain times of the year the full moon truly illuminates the entire basin on clear nights. Locals often hike to ski the basin at night under the light of the moon. This poster captures that early morning moment when the sun is rising and the moon is setting behind the peak. Best seen in real life during February and March when the timing lines up just right.
