Mammoth Hot Springs is Yellowstone’s only major thermal area located well outside the Yellowstone Caldera. The terraces change constantly and the area is often home to a large herd of elk. Our poster is based upon historic photos of the terraces showing elk and other animals interacting with the famous features and pools.

Mammoth Hot Springs sits on the parks northern edge close to Gardiner and the north entrance to the park. This area know simply as Mammoth serves as headquarters for the park with the road being open from the north entrance year round.
